At the moment Manchester United may not be doing it as a team on the pitch and for quite some time they weren't doing it as a club off the pitch either. Over the summer the signs were starting to show that we are getting there, yes it will take time, yes things may get worse before they get better but we'll not stop getting behind the team, the club that we love because We Are MUSC Longford!

Any football club or supporters club is only as strong as the committee, the board and the people behind the scenes. We at MUSC Longford, every member, are so lucky that we've always had a fantastic board from the first Chairman, Martin Foley RIP, through Harry Ryan RIP, to the current Chairman, Padraic Carberry, from the first President, Georgie Wenman RIP, through Harry, to the current President Seamus Gill and all of the Secretaries, from Davie "Chico" Sheehan, through Seamus, Gabriel Maguire, Dave Feeney to the current Secretary Kevin Keenan and last but not least our Treasurers Noel Daly RIP and Nicola King (just like a goalkeeper the Treasurer is the last line of defence, as is the Secretary like a sweeper, they need to be both a safe pair of hands and someone who stops at nothing to get the job done and we all know the current duo of Nicola and Kevin are a serious team who will gladly go above and beyond for us!)

A lot of these MUSC Longford legends held a few positions within the supporters club over the years and one in particular ever present lady, lets call her "The First Lady of MUSC Longford", is Nicola King. She is always willing and happy to do what's best for the supporters club, the current Treasurer for 24 years now (24 years, wow) and was on the committee before that. Nicola does an astronomical job for all of us. We might go over to 2 maybe 3 matches each year with the supporters club, we get on the bus on a Friday Morning, have a great weekend and get off it again on a Sunday evening and that's it, that's our participation until the next trip.

Well for Nicola King she's on the phone 2 maybe 3 times a week or the computer 2 maybe 3 hours a day, not just in the run up to matches but for most of the year trying to get the best deals for us. Our hotel rooms, drinks vouchers, food discounts, gym/pool use and functions to attend or anything United, anything that helps our members, all bargained for by this lady. If the dictionary had pictures in it you would see her smiling face right next to the definition of a Star..

Georgie, Martin, Noel, Harry, Chico, Dave, Gabriel, Seamus, Kevin and Nicola Are MUSC Longford!
